Ever since the debut of the Tensor-powered Pixel 6 back in 2021, Google’s made an active effort to give its own smartphones a design identity of their own, resulting in some pretty unique-looking designs over the past half decade. That said, one constant design element has been the camera bar, which is now a signature visual element of the Pixel line.
While the camera bar has always been a prominent element of the Pixel’s overall design (save for the A-series phones), it looks like Google might be switching things up, at least according to a case render. As initially reported by the folks over at Android Authority, case manufacturer Thinborne has now started advertising its aramid fiber case for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which features a rather shallow camera cutout.

As seen with this render, the camera window on the case barely extends past the rear panel, which when compared to cases for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 series does appear to be a bit more shallow. It also appears to be a bit taller this time around, which suggests that google might be bringing something new to the Pixel 11 series’ camera hardware.
With all that being said though, it’s important to remember that this is still first and foremost a case render, and the actual product—as well as the actual phone—might end up looking a bit different in the flesh. Additionally, Google still hasn’t officially specified a release timeline for the Pixel 11 series, although if past launches are anything to go by, we might see them in August or September.
